Description Pidpadders are close relatives of the aquameleon, however they diverged in that they spend the majority of their time atop pidpads, living in massive lively colonies together. Pidpadders are very small chameleons, but also quite strong. This chameleon engages in casual agression with one another, but the fights are practically never fatal. Their primary food is the amphipods tucked in the roots of the pidpads, which they regularly gather to feed from, but they will readily hunt other food as well, such as newtfish or manasnails. Like their relatives they have extraordinary color-changing abilities, which have evolved into a simple color-based language. Mating occurs a bit before the flowering season, such that as soon as the flowers blossom the chameleons lay their eggs on them, using it like a nest. Hatching occurs when the flowers die off, and the offspring are cared for until maturity is reached. babies must fight to establish a pecking order, males often having higher rank than the smaller females. While some may remain with the colony their entire lives, others may choose to leave to find a mate elsewhere, or are kicked out due to aggression from stronger, higher-status individuals. Pidpadders sometimes need to move their colony to another location, and will grip the pidpad with their mouths, navigating it elsewhere using their strong tails. This may cause tension and conflict with neighboring colonies if they move into another's area.
