Description

Venter spicatas (Spiked Belly), bio written by yakov

The Spiked Belly newt is a Algerian Ribbed newt descended from ones that bred with the closely related Spanish Newt before ending up in Aldesia, that adapted for hunting the goats in the Puddlelands and Western Highlands. It has a semi erect posture. It has stronger front legs to help with leaping, its main way of hunting prey. On its belly it has multiple quill like things used for injecting venom into it prey, which adapted from its ancestors ability to inject venom into its predators. The way this creature hunts is via leaping onto its prey, chest first, and having the bristle contact and inject the venom, which instead of having a stinging feeling instead weakens the creature, making it so it quickly collapses, allowing the Ribbed newt to attack the neck. It is around the same size as its prey. When breeding takes tale the fins on the top and bottom of the tail instead develop on the sides.
