If you missed it take a second look for the shadows behind themThis was almost cute... but the only way I ship Papyton is when it's unhealthy~~~ C:< Sorry to those who ship them cute and happy but I like it when there's only misery.
I get how they can look cute together (and boy howdy is there a bunch of cute art out there!) but with Papyrus being so eager to please people he actually changes his opinions just to make them like him, and Mettaton being so narcissistic and fairly self absorbed, among other things, it just doesn't... mmm... personally I feel like it would turn toxic. >3>

YES PLEASE, I really like the ship this way too haha, unhealthy I mean, idk why but it somehow fits for any couples with mettaton if he isn't paired with himself : D

Ohman yessss *high fives* I personally don't get how anyone thinks MTT could be a good boyfriend...? There's the way he treats Burgerpants (even writing a song about how terrible he thinks he is), some of the hotel staff and like especially taking into consideration the Neutral Route where he gets put on the throne: Anyone who doesn't like/watch his show "disappears" so if he's not being adored and getting his way it's not going to go well. Pap would be pretty good at adoring him, true, but MTT doesn't really listen to others opinions? At all?? Like, he'd very much make Pap do what he wants when he wants and "you'd better be paying attention to me darling, you don't need to look at anything else! *sticks leg in air*" it's so bad.

Yeeeah Mettaton basically plunges the underground into a dystopian/totalitarian state when he's in charge - Sans (and maybe Papyrus?? I don't remember) is his body guard in that ending too. But really MTT just needs to chill.

I wouldn't say it's a crazed obsession. It's their OTP, of course they'll draw a lot of it. Just let them enjoy their ships and ignore them if it squicks you out so much. There are many other equally great artists out there who'll draw things more to your interests.

Yeah, I'm more of a heterosexual-Mettaton fan than a homosexual-Mettaton fan. I shipped him with Chibiusa (but as a fully fledged adult in my story Sailor Neo Moon D) like FedEx.
