How did you get the ribbon so neat on the sleeves? Sorry for the comment spammage, but I'm cosplaying Rapunzel to Supanova this year

Oh! Um...basically I cut out the pattern piece for the sleeve, but before sewing it I added the ribbons on, equally spaced. I stitched up both edges of the ribbons. Does that help?

Well, not really because that's exactly what I did but mine came out looking so much worse than yours...
Long/short stitchlength? Normal thread? What type of ribbon?

Hmmm, how strange. What sort of problem exactly are you having? Is it puckering or pulling? Or is it coming out wonky?
If I had to guess I'd say it would be most likely related to the type of fabric you're using. My stitch length and thread were both normal, and my ribbon was just the standard stuff from Lincraft. :/

It might be the fabric; I used chino drill for the top/sleeves. What fabric did you use, out of interest?

And ironing doesn't change anything? I had to press mine a couple of times, if I remember correctly.
I think - and I'm not sure I'm remember correctly here - I used the wrong side of a polyster duchess satin. The sleeves and blouse were a chiffon, and the bodice the first thing I found with a print xD

Ironing changes nothing, unfortunately, and I think it's a bit too late to change it now. Thanks heaps for the advice though! It's always good to learn from mistakes
