The King in Yellow is a fictional play in a set of stories by the same name written by Robert W. Chambers. H.P. Picked up a copy of this picture years ago in a discussion thread about Lovecraft, one of my favorite depictions because it leaves enough to the undefined imagination to be more haunting than any amount of tentacles.

All the big, orangey colours and grittiness kinda makes me think of an old, pulp sci-fi illustration- the kind where there's some guy with a laser pistol wearing a space-suit that's a bubble on his head
