Description
Shoggoths are large, amorphous and amoeba-like. They can form mouths, eyes, and various appendages at will. They were genetically designed by an ancient race of alien life on Earth. Originally aquatic in nature, the shoggoths learned to live on land and eventually destroyed their ancient masters.βWe were on the track ahead as the nightmare plastic column of foetid black iridescence oozed tightly onward through its fifteen-foot sinus; gathering unholy speed and driving before it a spiral, re-thickening cloud of the pallid abyss-vapour. It was a terrible, indescribable thing vaster than any subway trainβa shapeless congeries of protoplasmic bubbles, faintly self-luminous, and with myriads of temporary eyes forming and unforming as pustules of greenish light all over the tunnel-filling front that bore down upon us," -H.P. I love this drawing and your style, but are shoggoths actually that big? I remember Lovecraft saying tthey were about twice the size of a car. Still awesome rendition

It's bigger than average, shoggoths "averaged about fifteen feet in diameter when a sphere". I think the car refereed to in story was the shoggoth moving like a subway car in a tunnel, pistoning forward.

Possess? Not by default in the original fiction. Maybe it could use a corpse as a puppet. Now spell casters in setting can jump from body to body meaning never to die, so one might try snagging a shoggoth body, but it's probably bad idea since even gender differences cause issues for those body swappers.

Yes, a lot of my digital work is done with those. I'm a fan of open source software and generally prefer to use it over anything else, not just because I'm cheap but also because it appeals to me on many different levels.

It was an aesthetic choice. Three people just works better visually than two. I know, technically it's not accurate to the story, but call it artistic license.
