Description
Shoggoths are large, amorphous and amoeba-like. They can form mouths, eyes, and various appendages at will. They were genetically designed by an ancient race of alien life on Earth. Originally aquatic in nature, the shoggoths learned to live on land and eventually destroyed their ancient masters.βWe were on the track ahead as the nightmare plastic column of foetid black iridescence oozed tightly onward through its fifteen-foot sinus; gathering unholy speed and driving before it a spiral, re-thickening cloud of the pallid abyss-vapour. It was a terrible, indescribable thing vaster than any subway trainβa shapeless congeries of protoplasmic bubbles, faintly self-luminous, and with myriads of temporary eyes forming and unforming as pustules of greenish light all over the tunnel-filling front that bore down upon us," -H.P. Lovecraft, At the Mountains of Madness

Damn, I just critically failed my sanity check. "Hey guys, it's Aunty Shoggoth; she always keep peppermints in her pockets." π: 0 β©: 1

Artist didn't want to use dark colors as background.

Pitiful human nats. Do they really think they can escape the ravenous hunger of a Shoggoth?

Wonderful rendition of one of my favorite Lovecraft creatures! It really conveys that sense of panicky-in-over-your-head dread from the Mountains Of Madness, especially with those people running over there for scale. With all the monstrosities crawling through my head, I'd love to be able to draw things like this. Practice makes perfect I suppose.
I especially love the yawning, toothy maws and the glowing green eyes. Good job!

Awful and squishy and horribly disturbing! The bubbly blobs at the back are especially horrifying.

Very good. I get a bit annoyed when writers and artists give Shoggoths too definite a form.

Oh god yes...
Even when the WIP was coming to a close I couldn't begin to imagine the epicness it would take on upon completion. But this... with the background and all...
Damn this is amazing... I think you really captured the horror of that story.

Thanks! I was unsure about the background for a while, but it came together.
