i was going to do homework and then i realized i had none other than to practice listening to spanish tv for an hour and i realized that both ricky rubi and jj barea are from spanish speaking countries and they're on the timberwolves.

And I love Spanish TV. the way I do it is that I'll watch like, Miami Ink on the Spanish channel and the show will be in English and then the commercials in Spanish and so that's how I do it. That or I just text mi amiga Ana en espanol. El dos es mas dificil.

There's so many different Spanishes, though, from Europe, South America, Latin America, and even within the USA. Languages fuse and evolve, some formal, some informal; some old, some new. I read an essay by an American-Latina about her language. It is called "How to Tame a Wild Tongue". An online version is here: [link]
It's about her identity through language, and how people keep looking down on the languages she uses. I couldn't get the full feel of the essay because chunks of it are in Spanish (like quotes or poems, or phrases), and she doesn't translate a lot of them. Hopefully you can get more out of it.

See, that's exactly the problem.
I speak Spain-Spanish, my friend Ana speaks Spain-Spanish, and all of my Profes speak Spain-Spainsh, so some of her language is lost on me. That combined with the fact that I really suck at reading Spanishl. I need to hear the intonation.
But that essay is really fascinating. I'm going to reread it when I'm not watching the game and hopefully I'll be able to understand more of it.
It's sad how a lot of the time, we seem to forget about the mistreatment of Latinos in America. We focus on the blacks and women but completely forget about the Latinos and even the Asians.
