This drawing feels so warm and friendly. The animals are cute, but why is the one under the tree laughing at her? xD
The amount of details is awesome, especially the shadows are well done.

Teehee, I may not have expressed it well enough, but if you recall the story of red riding hood, she meets the wolf on her way to Grandma's house. She was supposed to go straight to the house and not talk to strangers, but she told the wolf about going to Grandma's house. The wolf convinced her that she should pick some flowers to her Grandma, and so the girl stopped to goof off and pick flowers. In the meantime, the wolf made his way to the house first.
The time to draw was actually not very long, but I kept not working on it for weeks, so I posted it a lot later than when I started. The actual times that I worked on it is probably within 6 hours hours, a bit more if including redrawing parts of it because I couldn't decide on a background and her dress. I tend to not draw much or draw a lot at once in one sitting! My focus for this collection of fairy tale illustrations is to use lots of color and background! I noticed in the past I focused a lot on the character, even when there is a background. I wanted to have the main character, but also a significant amount of surroundings too!

I intended for Little Miss Red Hood to be high up and for the wolf to be pretending to be friendly by convincing her to come down and pick some flowers. In the story that I remember reading when I was little, the girl was playing around and skipping off towards her destination, and when the wolf showed up, he acted like a gentleman. After finding out that she was heading towards Grandma's house, he persuaded her to pick fresh flowers for Grandma as a present. While the girl was picking flowers, he wolf ran off ahead of her to Grandma's house, where the rest of the events occur.
I can see how it can be interpreted differently though, especially if someone didn't know that part of the story. I'll pay more attention to composition next time, to better convey a story! Thank you for your comments!
