Eclipsis — Razor Leaf

Razor Leaf was inspired by my Aero Alacrity picture only I mentally rotated it to three quarters view. This one also has the clumped fur that I wish to explore more.This Leafeon in particular is a yellow fall creature. It is running with its razor leaf attack for maximum damage on its opponent. There is some moss on the ground like a previous picture only this time it is not so bright. Like Solarbeam, this one also has a leaf tongue but it is difficult to see unless you are looking for it.

This reminds me of Okami for some reason. I just love the idea of it acting like a phsycic pokemon and levitating those leaves. The new eeveelutions as you depict them seem to be completely in tune with nature and their element. The clumped fur effect is nice it helps the body work with the bristling expression. I think a bit of that technique on the face a bit and a bit on the hindquarters would help make it look more bristling too.
I love the long legs and the pink paw pads. The pink paw pads look so nice on dark paws. The dark brown shadows on the leaves are nice, and the black veins hidden in them are really spectacular. Where you put shadow on the eon it added a really nice depth. And I like the leaves on his chest and back. They stand out just enough on his fur to look nice. =3

I am still thinking about how logical it would be to put the clumps on the face. In one of my newer pictures I did already attempt to put clumps on the hind areas. I am getting these ideas from artists that draw their wolf characters rather cartoon like believe it or not.

This one is very nice. I have a little bit of a problem with the pose. It seems unrealistic to me and looks odd. The eye also seems to be too big for the face. I do like it though.

Yah, the pose is weird. That is what I get for trying to rotate a picture mentally. Oops!
I think the eye looks too big because of all the shadows I put on it. But then again, that is just a stupid excuse.

I like the pose it's in. It looks like it's running. The position of the ears, the narrowed eyes, and the open mouth make it look really angry, like, it'd be barking or roaring. I like it! I really like the leaves it's using for Razor Leaf too. I like the detail on them and they look pretty, but they look like weapons too.

I really like the running pose! Very nice touch that it's razor leafs are maple, just like the leafs it has on its body; they look like natural shurikens! The details of the paws are very nice and careful done. The leaf neck-fur (or mane) is a great touch! I wonder why eeveelutions stopped changing the mane?
Funny detail: its eyes and the position of its ears make it look an evil leafeon
Hmm... Maybe an morning-fog maple forest background would make it look better. But if your objective for the black background was to raise the leafeon's details, then is fine like that.

Nope, Espeon is my favorite eeveelution. It ties Ninetales as my very favorite Pokemon.

It just occured to me that the original three did have manes. Hmm... well, they probably just wanted diversity. Like a theme with each one though I see no theme in the third generation of Eevee.

i like the fur texture, and the light comming from behind the tail - the outline looks really effective^^ did you do the blak background on the computer?

Oh no, it is done on black paper. I darkened it severely to take out all the imperfections of the scan, especially on Magical Leaf where I had taken a black pencil and "erased" some fur I did not want.
