Description NOTE :: MORE QUESTION UPDATE

Q : Where can I get copic markers? Do you have any recommended place?

A : There are several places selling Copic markers. You may check out you local art stores. Or as *SheCow recommendation, go browsing on Ebay. Ebay has more choices and probably sometimes has a very surprised deal! Check it out!

NEWS :: As mentions, "you can get copics from dickblick.com at a discount whereas buying them else where. (discount is at most 40% of the actual cost of copics)

Q : Copic markers are still expensive, Any brand do you recommend with a lower price?

A : Even though Copic markers are the best one for me, I admit that the price is still high. For some of you who want to use other brands, I recommend Neopiko from DELETER. These markers work pretty well and easy to blend like Copic markers (not 100% but yeah, still good enough to use!). And of course they come out with good price. But just keep in mind that Neopiko might hard to find on stores compare with Copic. So if you're interested, check 'em online. Yo!

For Prisma and Tristars markers...I've never used them so I can't tell about how good or tips...sorry about that TAT

=================

YAY! as I promised before *got shot*...hope it will be helpful for you guys. Any question for copic markers are welcome (umm...if I can answer as well TwT)..lol

Best Thanks for for her awesome copics XD

Hi~
I just have a question. 0w0
Did you ever work with DELTA Markers from Rothbar (i think it's called..?)?? I just recently bought a 40 Set ''C'' and I tried them but as I don't have all the colors (and no blender, yay) to really color my drawings, I tried with the ones I had and... I must say, I am a little disapppointed. (54,90€ but still) It doesn't really blend well and you can still see... Lines in the colors... Even though I worked fast. I even used a recently bought COPIC Colorless Blender but the tip of the pen gets color smudges and I stopped trying. I don't know if it's because of the pad or just because the markers are too strong...

It is fine if you get colour on the Copic Colourless Blender pen. Just simply wipe the tip on a clean piece of paper. If you put the tips of a coloured Copic marker and the Colourless Blender marker together, using the Colourless Blender, you can create a very nice effect, where the colour on the tip fades. You can also by Colourless Blender Various ink and put a drop of the Colourless Ink on top of some coloured Copic ink, making the colour bleed nicely (a similar effect can be achieved putting a drop of coloured ink on some Colourless Blender on paper).Β

I cannot help you much with the RotbArt Delta Markers. I have seen that they also have alcohol based ink, so I do not understand why they would not blend like the ink from Copic markers. I have read on its German website that they are compatible with many other kinds of markers, so I would not stop using them so quickly. But I do not think that the Copic Colourless Blender is compatible with RotbArt Delta Markers. Copic Colourless Blender is specifically for Copic ink.Β

What if you don't use copic markers? Will Spectrum Noir work just as well?

do neopikos hold more ink than ciaos??

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ecthelian In reply to inazumagalaxy [2015-06-17 19:50:46 +0000 UTC]

I'm not certainly sure! I know a regular copic seemingly holds more ink than ciao or neopiko, but to compare both ciao and neopiko together...not so sure about that (perhaps they both similarly contain the amount of ink?).

Question: what do you do to avoid bleeding outside the inked lines?

Wailore In reply to Chaos-Inferno13 [2015-05-31 13:13:51 +0000 UTC]

I went to Blick and received quite a load of information. Apparently your problem may depend on the type of paper being used. Some paper is developed specifically for markers.

e00 e02 and e04 are good to start for a standard skin tone

i also started with the 'sketching grays' 6 pack that contains n00 n02 n04 n06 n08 and a multiliner penΒ
that way you can draw basically Β anything (in gray scale) and get a feel for blending colours and the markers themselves

in the end, i got so addicted to the markers that i bought them all lol

I didn't see a warning but just so people know, these markers smell. Really bad. So if you are using them or plan on trying them out take breaks or have a window open or something so you don't get a headache!

And as for Copics, I really do recommend DickBlick.com
They have 15%-30% off sales pretty frequently. I got a 72 set of Copic Ciaos that were originally priced at $242.00 for $168.00!
