I just love the way that aspen clump together like that....did you know that every aspen in a grove is a clone of one parent tree? It is like one living organism that can stretch for acres. This is so pretty. The beetles must not have hit there yet.

the largest grove in colorado is on kebler pass - i'm gonna try to get to it next year ???
i knew a few years ago they where going thru an aspen blight, but the pine beetle kill up there on the other side of boreas pass - dillon - silverthorn - frisco area is horrible......just mother nature doing here thing ! just happens to be in out life time.
i met some way cool people at this grove !
an artist that was doing a pastel piece - an old photographer that worked for the greeley paper - i think he was in his 80's
a lady that worked for the postal service in breckenridge and two other photographers.
i took a portrait of the artist with his pastels - and should have taken portraits of everyone - oh well ! the brain was working right then - to much color we had an awesome fall this year !

We spent some summers at fish lake utah, the aspen there are breathtaking...OH.... have you been there? Talk about some photo ops. It is a natural deep lake high in the mountians. a beautiful place. specially in the fall. Moose and elk out the wazoo!

Nice calendar spot. The changing aspen really stand out against the almost totally green background.
