i dunno if that exactly solves the problem show-wise.

if only just because considering what happened, the solution probably shouldn't be to pawn tom off to someone else. Star wasn't a good gf and might've technically cheated on him, and marco kinda did something serious behind his back. It doesn't feel like the response to something like that should be "Star and marco deserve each other" and tom should stay out of it and date someone else.


i dunno, there's something irksome about handling this situation by making tom leave, when he isn't actually the problem. It just kinda comes off like he was used, screwed over, and then kicked. Especially since jackie's probably not coming back by this point.



You can ship as you want but i very much hope this doesn't happen, because it would be a poor way of resolving this kinda conflict. This kinda trope is normally used to brush over the pain of another character by giving him another love interest and star and marco's actions shouldn't really be brushed over or ignored.

Welp, that's one way to put it. At least it didn't involve Star and Marco apologizing to a large list of the people they "supposedly" wronged in their rather complicated and troubling love story.
I do have hopes that the show will resolve this ship drama (if Tomckie was their intention) in an action-packed movie-like arc like the Battle for Mewni. If love can happen in peaceful time, why not have that happen in dangerous times too, where the stakes are high, and people can expose their true feelings to each other?
