sorry for the inactivity ;v;
I am so happy I got to finish this piece in time (^__^; )
Today is a special day, it's the Nationalday of Austria!!! (And in terms of Hetalia, it's also Roderich's birthday :3)
Every year on the 26th of October, we celebrate the departure of the last soldier from the Allied Forces, which occupied Austria after WWII, and we also celebrate the declaration of neutrality (this year it's the 60. anniversary!).
But apart from its historical importance, the best part of this day is that noone has to go to work nor to school~
As for the title: It's german and means "Red White Red", referring to the colors of the Austrian flag, which you will see on most public places in Austria on the National Holiday ;3

I am glad that you are here to post your lovely drawing for Austria's birthday/National Day of Austria~
I am a bit curious, but how do you celebrate this day?
Anyways, for the critique:
Your background is great as usual, and I am envious of how you drew his hands~ I also believe that you captured his clothing quite well~ The coloring is accurate, and blends in with the background nicely.
However, I can see that you need a little bit more improvements.
1. Austria's leg is a bit weird (one with his boot showing) as it appears to be broken. I believe that it does not look natural this way.
2. I am kind of worried about the flag stick that he is holding? It did not seem like it would blend in with the Austrian flag well until I got a better look at it. Also, I do not think that flags have that much of a gap difference when on a stick.
3. It could be just me, but I think his forehead is a bit larger than normal? I also think that it somewhat offsets his hair a bit.
4. From what I recall, Austria wears glasses, so in your drawing, Austria's glasses is missing the handle, making it look like...monocles that somehow got a miracle in staying? It would be more realistic if the handle was there.
I hope I did not sound to mean...>.<

Well, we don't celebrate a lot - in fact there are many Austrians who forget the Nationalday ;v; However, the President gives a speech for example and you can see the Austrian flag on most public places; also in Vienna, there's a show of the Austrian military while they play the National Anthem and all museum and the Parlament are free to visit on this day ^^

1. Yes, I guess I have to work more on perspective and anatomy >_<
2. With the gap difference I wanted to bring a bit more dynamic into the flag, but I see what you mean, also the blending should have been better
3. Ah, you are right! But it's always a bit difficult for me to draw characters that don't have a pony
4. I wasn't really sure if I should have included the handles of the glasses or not, because I saw a lot of drawings, where the handles were missing as well

Ich liebe es wie du die Augen koloriert hast
Hat bestimmt alles recht lange gedauert, oder? Man sieht einfach, dass du viel Herz in das Bild gesteckt hast ^^
Irgendwie schätzt man den Nationalfeiertag erst richtig wenn man dann frei hat, oder? ^^
Ist schon ein bisschen traurig wenn man den eigenen Nationalfeiertag verpeilt hat nur weil er auf nen Samstag fiel... T_T
Egal durch die Hetalia-Community wird man dann doch noch an sämtliche Nationalfeiertage sämtlicher Länder erinnert ^^

Ja, es hat echt lange gedauert xD Die Koloration hat sich über ein paar Tage gezogen, besonders wegen dem Schulstress >_< Dafür hab ich mich auch ziemlich angestrengt ^^
Stimmt, besonders wenn es ein verlängertes Wochenende bedeutet x3
Bei uns war der Nationalfeiertag letztes Jahr an einem Sonntag, da ist er den meisten auch nicht aufgefallen...auch mir nicht wirklich Ja, durch Hetalia wird man da auch immer erinnert, und manchmal durch das Google-Logo xD
