Like, when we were at the center guessing what it was she seriously was like, "I am about to take your phone and start listing all of the birds I know."

Beautiful! It's amazing to just be able to view a picture of these amazing birds and tell their personalities so well through them. I'm actually quite partial to Finn and Cassie
Thanks for sharing pictures of all of your amazing feathery friends!

Thank you very much! Finn was always fun to photograph. I am looking forward to seeing him again this summer. We gave him to a friend who is going to try to get him to breed. Cassie will actually be leaving us tomorrow to go to another friend to breed as well!

Finn probably won't be breeding at all til some time next year, and we won't be around when he does breed. We won't be around Cassie either :/ So I won't be able to get any photos.

This one and his sister were the first I've ever seen. Now we have this one. There are less than 10 here in the US, so they are a very rare sight! I have plenty of photos to post of him

He's really handsome. They are from central and south america. There aren't many here in the states.

Oh neat. He looks really cool. How big of bird is he?
π: 0 β©: 1
EdgedFeather In reply to lost-nomad07 [2015-02-11 05:03:10 +0000 UTC]
He is pretty calm so far. He is just over 1000g. But his tail is really long and makes him look way bigger than he is. He was supposed to be a breeding bird, but the female he was paired with ended up sharing a parent with him, so they separated the two.

lost-nomad07 In reply to EdgedFeather [2015-02-11 05:10:37 +0000 UTC]
Oh cool. Sounds like they are very similar in sizeΒ and build to the ornate hawk eagle.Β Thank stinks, hopefully they can find an unrelated mate for them.

EdgedFeather In reply to lost-nomad07 [2015-02-11 05:17:14 +0000 UTC]
Yea they are pretty close to my knowledge. I think the Ornates are supposed to be a bit larger though.
I'm not sure where the female went. But the male is ours now. If they find a mate for him, it would be pretty awesome. He is a cool bird and it would be nice to have a few more available.Β
