interesting combination of colors. I like it however, next time try a little brighter orange/red or close to pinkish. Plus there's something that throws me off. I guess there's a pattern or two in the background which doesn't seem to fit the overall composition. It looks as if it degrades the image quality.

Erin, I am in love with this piece, its incredible! the colors, the theme, the concept, the detail, all perfect!
May I ask though, i have always wondered but have never been able to achieve this (i have a feeling the anwer is quite obvoius too!) but how do you get those banded horizontal lines in photoshop (the very small ones, that are in the sky and background) I've always wanted to know but havnt been able to find a way!

use the stamp in photoshop... make it big enough to cover the piece. then fade to your liking

I love the colors in the background...having the island in sillouette is a nice touch...I think that with the intense background color if you would have put more detail in the island it would have overpowered it. Nice work!

hey that's not too bad for one of those "floating world" images... i think the only probably is the shadow next to the black and the darkly colored background. The dark background doesn't help the silhouette pop as much as it could. the idea is really cool though and i really like the subtle textures
