When I first saw Coach Skip, I didn't know what he was, if he was an otter or a ferret or a weasel: I was thrown by him being an albino.
Later on, after studying his features (and learning that his name is Coach SKIP), I realized he was an otter. Good choice of species for a coach.
One thing I'd like to see would be a tv series that features animals like this, only it focuses on domestic/school stuff. I think it'd be fun to see animals in a setting like that.

...how does 'SKIP' help you?

I'm a huge fan of a book series known as the "Redwall" series. It's basically similar to "Fantastic Mr Fox", having animal characters, only there are no humans, and the setting is a medieval-type. In this series, there is almost always a tribe of otters, and the leader is always called "Skipper" or "Skip".
Hence, I've come to associate "Skipper" or "Skip" with otters.

Well then, they did a bad job of making him look like a ferret, he makes more sense as an otter.

I like your ideas — quite interesting! But one footnote: Coach Skip is a ferret.

WHAT?! A ferret - but...? Well, if that's true and you're not yanking my chain, then they did a bad job on modeling him, because he looks way too ottery to be a ferret. Somehow an otter seems better suited to be a coach for animals.
But thanks!

I promise I'm not yanking your chain. It's hard to believe, and the first few times I saw it I had NO idea what Coach Skip was. A dog, an otter, a moose…my ideas never matched what he looked like, though! I don't remember where I read it (IMDb? RushmoreAcademy.com?), but I was surprised when I learned of his true animal self. Haha.

Hm.... okay, I'll believe you.... but I still say he should be an otter, it just makes more sense: not only does his build seem far too ottery to be a ferret, but his name is "Skip", which could be short for "Skipper" which is a name often given to fictional otters. Plus the way how he says "There's no wackbat on the other side of the river?"
"Other side of the *river*", something that an otter would say. So... yeah, I'll still say that he's an otter.
