... have not gone unnoticed xDI thought I would share this realisation I had with you. It's pure coincidence, seeing as I designed them both before hearing of Avenue Q.
Fletcher looks horrible in that colour, but ten years younger with his hair like that... and even though I know Waffen isn't exactly a "manly man", for some reason I don't think he's ever looked more feminine than he does here. Why is it a suit does that to him? Very odd indeeeed.
hey... does anyone know where the "Kiwis-sodomize-sheep" stereotype even comes from? Is it just because there are tons of sheep over there? Or.. or did some guy in New Zealand get on the bottle one night, commit unspeakable crimes against the innocence of an unsuspecting sheep... and then proceed to keep drinking and tell everyone what he'd done to such an extent his whole country was branded...
...or maybe he wasn't the only one... D:

I guess it's like the whole tazzy-inbred-2-headedness thing... although, I think there was some weird case of an isolated, inbred community in tasmania somwhere... a while ago. Poor little tazzy; it's never recovered. I can't meet a tasmanian now and not oh-so-subtely check out their neck for the scar... it's awful. But I'm not sure about new zealand... there should be some wikipedia type site where you can research all the stereotypes associated with certain countries/places... would be mighty helpful.

This is so cute I don't even know what to do with myself. I feel the need to hug my computer screen or something. Probably helped by the fact that I now have "Grow Old With You" playing on loop in my head which wasn't even from Avenue Q but...well. You know.
Can I also say I love how wherever you draw Fletcher looking at Waffen, he's looking at him with pure adoration? It fills me with warm fuzzies whenever I see it. These twooooo.

The sheep thing is probably because there are so many of them overe there. Wales has the same stereotype. In fact, I've heard it from townies about any kind of mainly rural community. Maybe it's just that they think country people are stupid...

Hay, I'll thank you very much that the "Aussies-sodomize-sheep" stereotype is very prevalent here. That may be a retaliation to our being stereotyped, though.
I think it's more to the fact that a while a go we both had a lot of farmers (I dunno about you guys now) and the vast expanse of land with only sheep... what's a poor guy to do? Or so it went. It's definitely part of the inter-Tasman banter, though. Aussies and Kiwis point fingers at each-other and go "It's not us, it's them!"
And now I have that whole "Grrrrr >:T" out of the way I can continue on to tell you how I love this. I have yet to see Avenue Q (I missed them here a couple of months ago, but the show was up in Auckland) but the idea of a Kiwi and English accents singing along makes me grin.
Basically I have no idea what this is referencing but it has Waffen and Fletch so it's awesome, I can just sit and moon over beautiful art

I love this, it's very well drawn. As for the sheep thing, they say the same about the Welsh, and about a town here in Ontario... no idea why. When talking about the town (sorry I can't think of it's name for the life of me) people tend to say "When the men are brave, and the sheep are scared."

It's because most of the sheep are mustered up in the hills/moutains/whateverthefuckyouwannacall'em; they live there for most of the year only to be bought down to go to market or be shorn. Up in the hard hills for better part of the year with nothing but a dog and a few thousand sheep? What's a poor man to do, go Broke-Back? x]

Some American probably came up with that. We come up with stupid shit all the time. Speaking of sheep fucking, have you seen the movie Black Sheep? It's a horror (b-movie) movie that takes place in New Zealand about sheep that start turning into zombie mutant things all because some guy was doing some bad stuff (such as mutating them and sodomizing them). It's very amusing.
