‘Describe him to me.’ Jimmy said suddenly.
‘Who?’ Karma kept his eyes fixed on his work, half-wishing Jimmy would leave him be.
‘Death.’
‘Michael.’ Karma corrected automatically.
‘Michael, Death, same difference. What’s he like?’
To Karma’s vexation, Jimmy dragged a chair out from under the table and sat down next to him, drumming his black-painted fingernails expectantly on the table.
‘He’s…’ Karma only spared a thought to his answer: ‘He’s Irish.’
‘Irish? Irish? How could anybody find an Irishman remotely terrifying? They have such affable accents.’
‘Jimmy, were you to meet him I guarantee his accent would not dissuade you from your terror.’ Karma said shortly, resisting the urge to flatten Jimmy’s hand with his own.
‘What does he look like?’
Karma heaved a sigh, pushing the thin, metal utensils away from him and turning to Jimmy, who flashed him a victorious grin.
‘He’s pale. He’s never once cut his hair since he became Death – so that’s, oh, two hundred and fifty years or so, he’s only just younger than me. He’s an absolute nut case –’
‘Worse than Waffen?’
‘Ten times worse than Waffen,’ Karma nearly smiled at the look of horror stricken incredulousness on Jimmy’s face before he continued: ‘You know the brand Waffen and I have burnt on our chests? Well, Michael’s has sunk in, mutated, and all his veins have gravitated around it, which is interesting, because I don’t suppose he’d have any blood left. The veins make a kind of spider’s web, and that makes sense because he gets more like a spider every time I see him. He’s got eight eyes.’
Jimmy’s boyish features grew steadily more disgusted as he listened. ‘Christ,’ he muttered. ‘Eight eyes? Really?’
‘Yes, but the strange thing is you can’t help but look at his original eyes, the ones that remain human. They’re so intense you barely notice the other six.’
‘I highly doubt that.’ Jimmy huffed.
Karma gave a shrug, ‘He’s also exceedingly good at what he does. I’ve seen him work. You’d be hard pressed not to watch his human eyes in that instance.’
‘Why?’ Jimmy asked, hushed.
‘Because they get this manic look to them, and if he was taking you you’d never know if he was sorry he was the one turning out the light… or if reaping your death sent him into raptures.’

Take Two on Death. He was younger in the first pic, anyway. Apparently the years have not been kind.

I just wanted to do something without Photoshop.. aaand I failed cuz I wanted to make the pic all purple-y gray once I'd scanned it x3
