Always wanted for him and Twi to look a little more alike, but turns out bright blue wouldn't look good on Twilight until her whole color palette is tweaked. So, a little bit of pink for Shining is a solution I came up instead. It fits him surprisingly well.(Maybe back in Canterlot he actually dyed these stripes blue because of local fashion for one-toned manes or something, but then he moves to Crystal Empire and stops caring at all)
