Another acrogenous atrocity accidentally created by Bushroot, I'd say !

This is my favorite Darkwing Duck villain too. When I first saw him, I was surprised at how gentle and unvillainlike his voice was--the poor guy just doesn't fall perfectly into the villain category and Darkwing just doesn't see that. Neither has the correct viewpoint. Bushroot doesn't realize that what he's doing is wrong--which is why Darkwing is after him in the first place--and Darkwing just can't seem to give the poor guy a break--because he views him through the same lens that he sees the others in his villain gallery.

At least some leeway was made in the latest Darkwing Duck comics (which have been excellent, they are exactly like the show) between them.

I also love his sidekick, Spike. Spike was adorable.

Your point is very valide : DW does have a tendency to put people -especially villains- in boxes !
But poor Bushroot is the only one of his kind now, and he spends most of his time trying to create someone to keep him company 'cause he's lonely ! That's actually quite tragic and makes him an interesting character !
I started reading the comics quite recently and you're right, they're amazing ! Can't wait to get to that Bushroot part
I've heard they stopped doing them because it wasn't popular enough ... I hope, now that the DWD fever has been reawaken after the last ducktales episode, that we'll get to see more of the original Darkwing in the future !

It's a shame if they discontinued or cancelled the comics because of "popularity." While I never saw all the episodes of Darkwing Duck, I immensely enjoyed the series itself and the comic book series was great. At first, I was a tad disappointed with how they portrayed Bushroot because when they did show him, he was somewhat off character because he was with all of the other villains and was not the main focus of most of the stories. However, after the Ducktales crossover arch, the stories actually got even better--and were exactly like the show--that's extremely rare with most comics based off of tv shows. I believe that the Bushroot storyline is the part of the comic series until it (hopefully) restarts again. Yes, it's really really good and he's perfectly in character.

Yeah, Bushroot is a character I easily feel sorry for--especially in the Christmas episode. Poor guy was just trying to do some last minute Christmas shopping for his plants and it turned into an angry mob chase. Yet, you can't condone all of his actions either. Trying to turn your ex-coworker who you have a crush on into a plant creature like yourself without her permission is NOT right at all. You also shouldn't go after your ex-coworkers even if they were a bunch of jerks. (Seriously though, they were--they were terrible duck people!)

They were the worst !!

Now we can only wait and hope for more original DW stuff (I mean, I'm thankful to the new Ducktales for introducing me to the show but, it'll never really be Darkwing Duck ^^')

Also, while I have not watched the rebooted Ducktales, I've heard that it's awesome. I have looked up what they've been doing with Darkwing Duck for it--and it is rather clever. My boyfriend has been enjoying the series. Also having David Tennant voice Scrooge this time around was a stroke of genius!
