Apparently, he's called Albert Colvert, which ... REALLY doesn't have the same ring to it ... And don't even get me started on Gosalyn !! Sorry, dear country of mine, but as for Darkwing Duck; it's english all the way !

I watched it in German when I was a child; here, Drake is called "Eddie Erpel" (which would basically translate to "Eddie Drake") and Gosalyn's name is "Kiki Zündelmeyer" ("zündeln" as a verb means "to play with fire" and "Meyer" is a very typical German name). So... I guess the names are okay and well chosen. I really shouldn't complain, eh?

In french, I think they just really wanted to give the characters innofensive, quite obvious names ... So we have Albert Colvert; Albert being your everyday, kinda french-cliché type of name (when you compare it to Drake, which has a more "aggressive" tone to it and, in my opinion, sticks better to the character personality, it's a bit infuriating) and Colvert being the literal translation of mallard (so, okay I'll give them that).
But then we have Poussinette. Which is a girly, cutesy version of "chick". WHICH IN NO WAY SUITS THE CHARACTER AT ALL !! When is Gosalyn ever girly or cutesy ?! I was so mad when I've heard that the first time !
Sorry I ranted a little here, I just needed to get it out of my system XD
