-This "based on" section is gonna be a bit longer so get ready. So basically after I made that post about dex cuts I realized I didn't have "the basic fish mon" every gen has at least one of, like Magikarp, Carvanha, Basculin etc. So since my region was Latin and South America based I decided to do one of my favorite fish ever, the golden dorado, which we'll get to in the evolutions bio. As I was brainstorming ideas for the prevo, piranha's kept on popping in my mind, and since they are from South America it would be fitting. After seeing that piranhas were speckled with gold and silver scales I went onto designing it. I also found out that a species called the Golden Piranha, which made this even more perfect. So while drawing I knew I also has to reference El Dorado in some way in my region, so I did by giving it a golden mask with a single jewel in the middle, since ancient Latin and South American jewelry had emerald and gold commonly in said jewelry, I just had to make this mon green and gold. Speaking of which, El Dorado the city isn't real, but the original cause of the legend was from a ritual of the Muisca people, in which the new Zipa, in which he is covered in god dust and wash's it off in Lake Guatavita, while also throwing gold trinkets into the lake as an offering to an important Goddess. Lakes which piranhas can live in, and there's tons of gold that was thrown into said lake, it all seems to keep connecting! So now we have golden masked piranha, with an emerald on it's head, and the dorsal fins are much more thick and blocky, almost like gold ingots. Also some psychic elements since gold connects to psychic types in Pokemon.

-Shiny based on platinum and silver, and rubies and red bellied piranhas.
