Tea Cup boi. Kinda weird that it goes from the face being on the cup, to the face being the tea. Oh well, I dig it anyway.Part of:

this one is SO good, I love the colors you've used! I was thinking about coloring some drawings in the old school coloring style, but I would have to think about it, I'm not sure how to choose which colors they would be, I would have to think in a very limited way and I don't know how to do that haha

Oh you mean the old water color style. I love that style, the mons looked like journal drawings to me, or something I'd see in a nature book. I also loved the poses they do, especially arboks original RB art where its striking. I won't worry to much about limitations in color, if I remember correctly most mons kept the colors they have today from their original art, I think the only thing you would need to look into is the interesting shading and lighting Sugimori gives them, and giving the mon a weird, cool, or dynamic pose. Also thank you so much!

No, although I do really like that style too, but no I mean the GBC style, like the old school sprites in Gold and Silver and Crystal, the gameboy color was limited in the amount of colors you could use per sprite, so some of them have inaccurate colors, like this Sinistea, the colors are different than the official artwork. I want to draw some fakes, or pokemon, like that and have a limited color pallet, I just haven't done so yet, I really want to though, especially after talking about it so much here haha

Oh I see what you mean now. Well if you'd like I could give you some pointers on color selection for the GSC style

Alrighty then, here's some pointers:
•You can only use 4 colors, 2 of which are mandatory being Black, White, and 2 colors of your choosing, so I recommend using the 2 most Visable colors on the mon your doing. But sometimes you've gotta mon like Pidgey with 3 main colors, well that's a bit harder, I'd say go the crystal route and choose the color the makes it up the most like pidgeys beige, seriously the pink on pidgeys GS sprite was kinda weird.
•Know what to sacrifice and improvise. With bird mons for example your most likely not gonna be able to use yellow for the beak, so use white for the beak instead, boom, no need for yellow now. Same works with hair as seen with jynx's American GSC sprite. Another thing is using black for a pokemon's darker areas. Gengar, vilplume, and murkrow all do this, these pokemon aren't actually black in their official art, so what they did was made them black and used the darker color they chose to shade them at where the light touches them, bang, no need for a new color, plus it looks cool.
That's what my mind goes through when I'm choosing what colors I should use on a sprite. Hope you found this helpful!

Also I was just thinking, the colors they use seem to be fairly basic, right? Like they're pretty vibrant standard colors, they didn't have 8 different shades of pink from hot pink, to magenta, to blush, to peach, it was just PINK, am I correct in this? That might change some things too!

Suprisenly you can actually use those colors, except maybe blush? Miltank, Granbull and Clafairy have different shades of pink, I believe the rule is that aslong as it isn't so bright that it's almost white in game, or it isn't so dark that it appears black in game then it's fine. So nothing too bright, like a washed out yellow, but something like a slightly brighter yellow would be fine, or a blue so dark that it looks black wouldn't be fine, while just blue, or an indigo is fine

Oh That's true about the pinks. Yeah, I'm actually going to google the gameboy color pallete today, see what the more common colors are

interesting! Especially the using black, that's interesting to see, I was looking at vileplume and it's funny because shiny vileplume uses a greenish shade for the highlight, but that makes the black look greenish as well, just as the regular color vileplume's blue highlight makes the black appear more blue, very fascinating...Yes I definitely want to do this, like totally!!! I'm really excited. I want to try someone with several colors, but not someone with like 8, I'll have to go through and see if I can find a more modern one with like 3-4 colors maybe, unless you have a suggestion/request you'd like to see me do?

What pokemon to start with, I'd say start with something easy and a favorite. But if you'd like a recommendation then maybe ludicolo, it's got like 4 colors, brown for the top of the hat and small stripes, green, yellow for the "poncho", and orange for the beak.
