Description
Commission work for *Calhanthirs and number one in a series of seven featuring costumed anthro superheroes and super villains locked in combat.Spectre is the wolf. A supervillain with a variety of mental powers including levitation, telekinesis and life-draining.
Wildcat is the team leader of the good guys. One of my better drawings of a puma. They seem to be popular. His powers are super leaping and a sonic scream.
The hardest part of this drawing was getting both characters into the same picture so that you got a real good look at both, show off a little taste of their powers and make it dynamic and interesting. I also wanted their entire bodies in the pic. Designing their costumes from scratch was the second hardest part.

Nice composition of figures here, and I also agree with someone's comment about that black of the character's cape contrasting with the figure in the foreground, really makes him pop out more... nice!

Thanks! I really did make about three or four tries at this one before I got the composition I liked. I'm usually too lazy to do that.

I didn't get to comment on this before. Those are some cool lookin' characters in cool costumes! You've got such great talent with pose and physique- I like how you fool around with different levels of musculature and hair.

Thanks. I was happy to see the customer request that spectre be very thin as I'll just normally draw my guys quite muscular. Working on different body types is fun and actualy makes the other body types stand out more. I've got one job coming up where I'll have to draw a more "full-figured" female. It should be interesting.

When I think about a full-figured attractive female, I think of folks like Queen Latifah... it could be her charisma, celebrity, or warmth that draw people to her as well, but she's a bit of a wall breaker and worth noting. It's a thought, anyway.

This has classic comic book cover written all over it ^^ very nice indeed. Love how Spectre's cape has the inside of it completely black as it contrasts with Wildcat's brighter fur. The way Wildcat's positioned, gives it a feeling he's leaping up from darkness ^^ things superheroes do often.

I'm not even a comic book person. I'm more an anime/manga guy myself. But I recognize what I see, and this says classic comic cover. ^^
