Te agradezco tu comentario. Son las paredes y el piso los que hacen ademΓ‘s que el diorama estΓ© muy grande y ocupe mucho espacio, pero fue divertido hacerlo.

Kenner would've released the ecto-containment unit in a toyetic fashion. Yours looks quite true to the Kenner style.

Thank you so much. In fact I applied in ths diorama some decals of jurassic park vehicles of kenner, so it looked like something made by this factory.

Te agradezco mucho, aunque a lo que se refiera a "profesional" pues me falta por lo menos un requisito: que me paguen por lo que hago; y eso va a estar difΓcil.

Oh man, I must own his! This is really cool! I'll have to work on one of my own soon, very clean and instantly recognizable! Great job on this.

It's a shame they never actually made a containment unit back then.
I mean, they made all 6 Ghostbusters, Slimer, the Firehouse, Ecto-1, a lot of the villains, and a bunch of other vehicles, some in the show, some not, but no containment unit?

They did make one... It was completely red... Might have come with the Firehouse... It had a top piece to it that you would put the ghost in, and slide it to make the ghost "disappear" into the containment unit... Here's a picture of it with added decals and what looks like possibly some paint on some lights... [link]
The actual piece was just the red color all around... I still have mine from my childhood...

Hm, guess the firehouse I got didn't have it.
It WAS bought from a garage sale, and all.

I was just lucky my mom didn't successfully sell my Ghostbusters stuff at the garage sale she had so long ago...

I stupidly chose my Batman toys over my GB ones when we had to choose which ones to keep and which ones to sell.
The Batman toys didn't even last that long before I lost interest.
I still regret it to this day.

At least you got a choice... I lost the majority of my Thundercats stuff, and all of my Bravestarr items at that garage sale... My mom kicks herself for that to this day as she now knows I still have an interest in that stuff.

This is freaking amazing. The level of quality put into it, like the electrical pipes on the wall, the front of the containment unit. DO the lights turn red and green too?? LoL. I wish Kenner had included something like this in the original FireHouse, even if it was secured into the FireHouse and wasn't removable, as it should have been. Even if they had made 2 versions, hopefully Mattel takes notice and produces this as either a standablone or redoes the original FireHouse. Now that would be sweet, what great work man so impressive!!!

oh! That you mentioned about Mattel would be great, I know they are in production of Castle Grayskull playset, lets see how it is compared to the original and if it works, they may decide to produce more for its other toy lines. Thank you very much for your comment!!

WOLVERINE25TH [2012-12-29 22:07:15 +0000 UTC]
It's amazing how lax the accessories for the figures were. Sure, we had the ghosts, the vehicles, the basic firehouse and the little do-dads the figures came with. But, real playsets? We didn't even get the Statue of Liberty they used in the 1989 toy commercials.
This is what we should have gotten, besides the little CU that came with the firehouse.
Nice work!

I know exactly what you mean. That is why I made this diorama. I always had the impression that Kenner had to make the container unit playset, and many others. Thanks for your comment.

Most welcome And they did make a containment unit with the firehouse way back when, but it was sooooooooooooo flimsy and an ugly effing red plastic box... ugh... just thinking about it, may have to check your images a few more times to erase the memory

egocenter In reply to Esbe77 [2012-12-29 22:25:42 +0000 UTC]
Ha! Yes, I do remember that accessory in the firehouse. I never had this play set and always wanted as a kid, but now that I've seen, and I've had a chance to buy one, I find it is too simple, too limiting (if that makes sense).

Yes it does make sense, companies do not want to make the most out of your buck, but they want to make the least for what it will give THEM. So yeah, it makes 2,000% sense

Yes, I agree with you. You are absolutely right. Although not all in my opinion are bad reviews for Kenner. Almost all the toys I had were made ββby them.

True, Kenner did a few great things. Their first Ecto-1, I remember, was quite good and when I got it on my 10th birthday, excited isn't even close to describe how I felt...
