Description
My second "rainbow needles" picture.I was on doubt how to achieve really good metallic look of metal parts... of course without v-ray, mental ray or kinda. And now i'm quite satisfied with result. However this one took almost 31 hours to render.
Cinema 4D, advanced render. Click download for 1680x1050.

Thanks!
Probably. Rendering never took me so long. The most difficult part was heart in the middle and liquid that is filled with.

Even under the ideal circumstances this render still would have taken hours.
Still, just imagine if decided to push it even further and and added a mirrored surface beneath the heart. Yikes!
My longest render pushed 24 hours and two times froze up! Once on the very last line! Still it was worth it (although the stress of it turned my hair white!)
Your really know your color wheel. Great work!

Yeah, reflective surface... sure suicide for my notebook
I always want to keep my scene detailed but quick to render... I guess it bad for this time.
I found out too late that this would take much longer... luckily this scene hadn't frozen... cinema is doing great.

Sometimes it's irresistible to push things just a lit bit further. But, then when you stop and think about all the math processing involved to express all the variables you realize it will be a huge undertaking whose results cannot be guaranteed.
Still, when it works, it's worth it... people are blown away.

That's right, some things aren't good when making more simple

Oh an interesting piece! Though I am not sure how to interpret the meaning behind it. The rendering simply looks perfect! It is worth every minute you put into it!

I like how the substance in the needles lessens as the needles go around. deceitful at first glance.

Fucking hell, this is amazing. I spent a few minutes just staring at the first one, the detail...I mean, you even have the liquid seeping up past the plunger-head. I can't use the word "amazing" enough on this.

Thank you!
I wanted to have it detailed becouse of closeup... but on the other hand, too much details extend rendering time... enormously I should say
