Description
My second "rainbow needles" picture.I was on doubt how to achieve really good metallic look of metal parts... of course without v-ray, mental ray or kinda. And now i'm quite satisfied with result. However this one took almost 31 hours to render.
Cinema 4D, advanced render. Click download for 1680x1050.
Please use it as your personal desktop wallpaper only.

OK
Maybe you can try Blender. It's free and more simple.

hehe i meant additive, cause all colours summate to white in the heart
but addictive seems true too anyways, nice work

It's white, becouse colors of spectrum makes together white light... like prism
So I thought this could be a nice detail

I wonder if whatever's inside those needles tastes good..
The render is amazing btw Really realistic and full of subtle awesomeness. Like the way the metal is just shiny enough to reflect the liquid in the syringes near it a little bit ^^

This is just awesome. I love the needles and the filling up of the heart. Reminds me a bit of a prism, y'know, how all colours together make white light? Light is all colours and this is just a fantastic idea and a great effect with the colours and the art itself. Is Cinema 4D the program you used?
Anyways, great job. It's got this rainbow-happy but sterile-cold feeling. It's like how a rainbow would be if it was stolen and experimented by scientists and the government. .. Ah I can't explain it, I just sounds nuts. Still... awesome.

Thank you! Yeah, Cinema 4D was used.
Of course, I know how it works You can see here as colors of spectrum make white colorless liquid inside the heart.
And you are right about how it makes you feel. It's a bit grotesque scene.

This version is much better, credit for originality this time definately falls on you.
I think the metal and glass work is great.
The only disapointment I feel is I look at the liquids inside the syringes and some how I don't see it as a liquid.. I just see a block of colour. (I'm expecting to see things such as bubbles or weird reflection/refractions of light from the liquid)
Still this was interesting enough that its worth a fav.

Thank you, probably I just set too high luminance of liquid, so transparency is fading... C4D isn't very good at glass and water materials (without v-ray).
Maybe bubbles would make it more interesting, but it would take few more days to render

Any specs for the PC your rendering on?
A good graphics card should help render things much more quickly.

I'm actually using my notebook, my PC is old crap. And change piece of notebook is much more harder then PC. It's still in warranty.
It has 512Mb vga... not the best in these times, but works fine.

Notebooks or laptops aren't really the best choice, so thats why.
Generally most 3D applications are governed by: Your graphics card, CPU and RAM.
I spent a while looking into part for my new PC (which is finally running today *yay*).
Annoying thing about getting new hardware is that the better the product is.. the higher the price. It doesn't just double in price but goes up 4 to 5 times the original, depending on how new it is.
(Then waiting it will reduce in price.. but even then you won't have the latest computer specs. - suppose thats why people prefer consoles for gaming machines.)
I haven't tried out my new computer for 3D Applications yet, mainly gaming.. but I intend to do map making which will require rendering. (As soon as I finish my long list of assignments *sigh*)

All my notebook parameters are twice that good as at my PC... so that's why I'm using my notebook.
I use to buy or upgrade my PC every 2 years (or when it broke down). There's no need to do it more freqently.
I suppose, consoles are popular in USA, Germany... becouse people here are more comfortable... they just insert game and it's ready to play. No need to install, ... or upgrade when PC is too slow.
Here in Slovakia are much more popular PCs. Most people here just can't afford to buy legal version it's more easy to download it. And it's almost impossible to get warez version of console game... that's why they're not popular here.

I see.
The actual making of the model isn't too bad, but rendering times can be really bad depending on the computer.
CPU and graphics card do go quite along way I've noticed with helping rendering times.
