This looks really great! Out side of the painter's view I can offer a few tips to you i hope that are helpful, I agree with von, the rocks you did make it look more like a mountain still, try different rock shapes and stuff and this kinda looks more like the top of the ocean with all the light i know i could imagine this was hard to make it with being able to see anything it had to have light honestly the color looks nice to me just maybe little darker at bottom?? in any sense though your pictures keep inspiring me to keep trying!

Hey, thanks for the tips, man! And I'm glad that you find my work inspiring. But yeah, I agree with the rocks. Totally. I'll have to study some references for that-- and the bottom probably should be darker. I should've added a dark gradient going from the bottom to the top as light. That might've done it. Thanks for the comment! Keep doin' what you do too, you're improving constantly. ^^

Beautiful. One thing I've noticed that you could try: different rock shapes? Or at least different formations of them? Just an idea.

I completely agree that I should. But my mind simply cannot THINK of different rock formations nor shapes as of now. Lack of visual library, y'know. I should look at some references. :l
I guess spikes would do better underwater? I've seen some spiky rocks in some underwater scenes in movies. But mostly it's flat, I think. With small rocks in the bottom.

There are so many different shapes: long flat rocks, coral, pointy rocks, round boulders, and everything in between. Spend ten minutes a day just looking up rocks and shapes.. amazing how much it helps. So keen to see what your next piece is!!

Didn't even think of long flat rocks. '-' Sheesh. Well, I'll try to look at some! And I actually finished a painting right now that I'm going to put up. I hope people like it. It has water, though-- and I kinda messed up the reflection stuff. :l
