Looks just like the vw my parents used to parade us around the country in. Always looked like this: either cooling off or broken down. Memories.....

It certainly belonged to my parents before I was allowed to take it
Indeed - memories from the past

I also owned a 67 vw. Someone stole it. Very sad but the next car I bought didn't overheat

Pretty close I should say, though I guess this one is even a bit older, because of the hubcaps (maybe 64 )
Never heard about the overheating problem, so far

Don't think so - maybe perutz. Kodachrome and Ektachrome became my favorites later when I had a camera of my own.

I remember reading in some photog mag that when Kodak announced that they would no longer be producing Kodachrome...tons of devotees of that film bought brick upon brick of it and stored it away in freezers for future use. From all I have read it was the best film ever made. I never used it and wished that it would come back so that I could. But that ain't gonna happen

I certainly shed a tear myself when I heard about it. Like another good friend, who always was good company, gone.
When I scanned all those slides few years ago, they were all still in a mint condition in their little cardboard frames.
Some color negative films (mostly AGFA and much younger than the slides) had been literally eaten up, at least the gelatine, I presume.

for real the negs are no good? I have some old negs bit I keep them in poly-sleeves and they seem to keep very nicely there.

So do I. Full of worm-like traces, maybe a case for the Holga and multiple exposure freaks around

Wow, what a vista - so flat, but those mountains on the horizon!
And I drove a VW bug - long years ago!

Man, those things were brutal in the winter. The front window defroster was nearly useless.
On the other hand - you could always start them up if you had a battery problem - push them a few feet, jump in, put it in gear and pop the clutch - off you went!
Yup. Sweet little cars.

I see you ARE an expert here, Richard. All so true. And this bloody 6 Volts battery was A.L.W.A.Y.S. down
(But an anlogue picture from analogue times when we were still able to help ourselves )
