childhood summer holidays
same mountains, same car, not the same color though - our was blue and had a name BlΓ₯mann. On more general term the VW was called Boble (Bubble) way back in the 70's. Oh, I loved our car, and still today I find the design wonderful.
A song for the old car: Boble: [link]

Bubble - what a nice name for the beetle - I have never heard that before.
And, of course, this is 74 - my first car (belonged to my mother before) and my first holiday with an own car.
I had been hitchhiking the Norwegian south coast with a friend when we were 17. The idea was to visit a penpal in Kristiansand (Ellen, a girl I had met on the Denmark ferry one year before). This holiday was quite an experience of freedom, camping sites, blonde girls, midsummer with moonshine spirit, fishing and very generous people and a lot of hospitality of people who let us stay in their hytter).
Than I had to realize that traveling by car is completely different, like traveling in a bubble
And we also came across places in there Bergen area where my ancestors had behaved with a lot of brutality during occupation. This also was like an eye-opener. From this point on I could not travel Europe any more with the naivete of the early years, but with a lot of awareness of the disastrous German role in 20th century. all this in a single picture

sounds like a wonderful holiday, the spirit of young freedom - when the world is just wide open - - and at the same time loosing the innocence of childhood, you described it very well
Did you find some more treasures in your analog backlog? Something you can share with us?

Reminds me of some old negatives I found in the attic. Morris minor and mountains. A lovely combination. For cleaning purposes, I don't suppose you could tell me where all these were taken? Btw, I really appreciate this!
