when I was a little boy visiting and visiting Grandpa and ma I would walk to a foot bridge that crossed a switching yard which was immense, I could stand transfixed for hours and watch as the small switch-engines as they called them would pick cars from here and there to make up a train. In my youngest memories the switch-engines were still steam powered and gave off an evil smelling smoke that clung to the ground on humid days..

Der Bahnhof in Hagen ist fürchterlich, da mag man ja schon fast freiwillig in Schwerte umsteigen.

So isses, aber für Hintlerwäldler wie uns sind Hagen bzw. Schwerte zwangsläufig eine Bimmelbahn-Etappe auf dem Weg nach Köln bzw. Düsseldorf.
