Description As the title says, here we have two different general concepts of anthropomorphisized deep-sea isopods made for *CrimsonSacrifice . These were tough to figure out a direction to go with, but by the grace of God, inspiration struck twice (actually thrice, but I couldn't get the centuar-like one to look right) so I didnot have to sit around and think too hard for too long... It was drawing them and their many apendages that took the time.

I drew the male one on the bottom first, then the female one. Personally, I think I like the male one best.
BTW, I didn't forget to draw some arms on the other side in a few of the shots. I just decided not to make things too complex in them. So the arms on the opposite side that aren't shown are just at their sides, not missing.

Anthropomorphizing a giant isopod is no easy task, and yet you've done it better than anyone else I have ever seen. Wonderful job!

Wow, someone beat me to making the Isopod an anthro. Apparently this giant ocean dwelling crustacean is more popular than I realized.

Those anthropomorphic isopods sure look like pretty well designed critters in their current form.

Yeah, I'm not sure, but I doubt they'd taste like crabs or shrimp...probably more like bugs.

Anyway, thanks.

I've got to say this is AMAZING creative prowress. Taking an anthropod type creature and making it humanoid is no small task, but making it "attractive" or at least pleasing to look at in terms of humanistic natures really is just very, very well done. I like how you differenciated between the two genders in physical traits, and overall the concepts are just stunning. Very nice work.

Thank you very much!

Actually they're both different takes on anthropomorphicizing them. Gender didn't have much to do with the changes. ^..^;

*lol* My sister recently reintroduced one of my barely-used characters as an anthro Isopod, though she's yet to work out a graphic design for her.

Aren't they so amazingly, hideously awesome?

I have no idea what those are but they're drawn well... ^__^

Does the males have more arms that is can use than the female?? =O

EJW In reply to Meteor-Summoner [2006-08-02 07:46:12 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

And not the real ones, I don't think. Basically these are both two different takes on isopods (not just gender-based variation), and I made one of the versions male and the other female.

Dashykins [2006-07-25 03:34:45 +0000 UTC]

Wow, those are spectacular. I adore them. I love the way you have made such clear design differences between the male and female ones. Just wow.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EJW In reply to Dashykins [2006-08-02 07:41:23 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I'm glad you do.
Actually, they are two different design concepts reguardless of gender. I wanted to have (at least) two designs for isopods made and decided to make one version male and the other female, just... because. But yeah, even if I did do both genders in one design, I'd probably make a couple of noticable changes between the two other than the obvious physical build. ^..^

Blattaphile [2006-07-25 02:53:54 +0000 UTC]

oh, WOW!!! This was really quick! I can't believe how well you did them, I'm in love I love the female one's eyes and tail, how cute! And the male looks awesome with the hind legs and swooped back 'antennae' things. You are definitely awesome with these sea critters! I hope you don't mind me drawing them sometime soon! In the meantime I'm inking yours tonight, sorry I'm so slow !

EJW In reply to Blattaphile [2006-07-30 13:43:59 +0000 UTC]

I'm so glad you do like them, and thanks.
I guess I am rather fast. One of my gifts from the Spirit, perhaps. I certainly don't mind if you draw or use them. After all, you're the one I drew them for. ^..^
And you're not slow at all.
Slow is if you asked someone about something in January and didn't even get a reply to your e-mail until a week ago.
