although shadow link's in spirit tracks,he is not supposed to be in the game.But,i realize he is one of the weakest characters and he has three hearts,just like link.

At the very end of the Level 3 Boss Rush in Castle Town. You get a few healing hearts in the room before the one with Shadow Link.
