My submission for the "All Around the World" fashion contest by

We were to choose our favorite Country and time period to base our design around. I went with The USA during the American Revolution. ^.^ What can I say the 18th century in America is probably my most favorite era. That being said, I wanted to really keep the influence prominent. I loved the uniforms of the time - not being much of a bustle and bodice type myself (I've worn them for re-enactments... Not a fan).
The dress beneath is a simple, white, halter neck sheath dress, while the boots would be designed to mimic the white spats and boots the soldiers wore - right down to the black pearl buttons and leather, belted, garters. The coat is based on a Continental soldier's jacket, in the "American" colors. The collar is mandarin cut, instead of the more traditional fold over style.
