At first look he looks threatening. Then I notice he might be approaching the viewer but appears to be pointing back to the cave. You're calling him a "trog" it makes me think "dog in a troll's body." What is it, boy? Timmy's trapped in the cave?
His nails are trimmed. If he's savage and beast-like he wouldn't take care of his hands, suggesting intelligence, or at least he's designed to rely on brute strength to survive.
The style gets my attention.
