Big ol' sketchdump. Some sketches of Beth and other peeps from our SUPER SECRET totally not a secret anymore project.Here's the skinny: Myself and a bunch of other artists are going to be doing a round-robin style improvised comic! Should be fun. I'm pretty damn excited about it! ANYHOW, go check out what we have so far HERE:
I think I'm going to turn the very very bottom sketch into a painting, a-la : . This livestream thing. Tell me how it works so you can be bored off your ass watching me paint for some reason.

Beth is my favorite design of yours. She's kawaii and doesn't have tattoos or shit in her face.
An excellent choice to juxtapose from your other characters. JUST FOR PEOPLE LIKE MEEE.

I like her a lot too. I think it's because A.) I designed her off someone I actually knew and B.) she's more of a normal-girl than anything else. Weird is fun, but normal is dependable!

on the positive: looks good. nice exploration, and cool sword design.
on the negative: you should probably get more of a handle on her age...she jumps from about 12 (bottom-right) to 20 (bottom-left). i think it's a facial thing. something to do with the distance between the eyes, maybe.

It may not be so much the distance between her eyes as their height on her face. They're a little higher in the left one, I noticed. Still, I don't think it's as drastic a difference as you're making out.

a trick i sometimes use when things are out of proportion, but i can't put my finger on exactly what is wrong, i go wild with the transform tool until they look better, then redraw it to the new spec.

I've been studying her face a little more, and it could be that her face (and general physique) is a bit narrower/taller in general on the left. Honestly, I like the younger look a bit more for her (though not 12, haha). She looks a bit more like Mikka in the left one, too.

once you get her look under control, it might help to slam down an oldschool animator's reference sheet. set it in stone. that way you'll never be off-character again.
