Description
‘Fantasy’ was always a strange genre to That Which Is Not. For an entity that is a being of nightmares, extension of the Cosmic Unknown, and a proponent for both ‘anything is possible’ and making what is considered impossible a reality… ‘Fantasy’ was often, to this stygian, something that ‘had not yet happened to the author or their knowledge’. It was also a look into the mind of the one that wrote it. What does a nightmare dream about~?
Unlike most of the books That Which Is Not had been most drawn to thus far, this one looked relatively shiny and new. It was bright red with some black embellishments, no title nor author on the front. Though it did have an … oddity about it.
It looked like someone used permanent marker to draw a symbol on the cover.
They did relatively alright, it did look symmetrical, but… That Which Is Not was immediately curious why someone would do such a thing to a book, and decided to look at its content before fuming about defacement. Turns out that it wasn’t defacement, exactly.
The book itself appeared to have been a blank book, not custom bound, but of a general stock. The story inside was all handwritten; the only way to tell it apart from a journal was that it had ‘chapter’ pages instead of entry dates, and wasn’t in the first person. It looked either like it was a draft, or someone simply wanted to write a book and went ahead to do so with what they had.
The story itself was focused around some stygian venturing into the Labyrinth and what they found there. While That Which Is Not could tell that parts were clearly exaggerated and inaccurate to the point of its author possibly never having been there themselves, it still was an entertaining story about summoned beings, conspiracies about treatlings, artifact possession, the arcane, and “dark forces”.
That Which Is Not decided to take this with them, and considered potentially scrying for the author sometime, so they might be able to show them just how much more intriguing a true visit to the Labyrinth could be.
Again, only writing counts for quest, because wow, did I ever just SLAP A FREE-USE BOOK COVER ON HERE and then make some 'marker symbols' on it. Granted, that was kind of the point.
That Which Is Not not knowing what to make of fantasy genre, rip. Doesn't mean they won't steal it anyway though.

dsfkjngkjfd SNORTS.
I mean, a good way for TWIN to notice someone is just summoning some eldritch monstrosity, but you know. Leaving ambiguous books around that seem to, in their mind, be asking for madness is good too.
