Description What do you all think? I poured my blood and sweat into this piece. ^_^

It's the characters from one of my favorite Disney films, Oliver & Company!

I spent like 4 hours getting these characters down just right last night and colored it today. I tried to stay true to the Disney style while not straying from my own.Planning a BG gave me a hard time, but I ended up using a simple spotlight. ^^

Let me know what you all think!

I really enjoyed this movie since i was a kid in the 80's. I saw it two times when it originally came out in 1988 when i was 7 years old after thanksgiven and after christmas living in Omaha Nebraska. I had some of the original merchandise including Mcdonalds finger puppets but too bad it never came out on video the next year. But i really enjoyed watching it again when i was 14 turning 15 back in early 96 as me and some of my junior high pals remembered it when it came out when they were young too like me. I watch it every thanksgiven as a tradition.

Oliver and Company is one of my favorite disney films...a n i had to wait so darn long just for it to come out on tape. They really crushed a six year olds' heart when they made her wait till she was in freaking high school to re release it in theaters and THEN put it out on VHS right when DVDs were getting to be the norm. Sorry for the rant I really do like this piece i love their expressions

Me too, one of my fave disney movies ever. Did you see this movie in theaters too when it came out and had merchandise? i did when i was 7 4 times in theaters and i had Mcdonalds happy meal finger puppets, the soundtrack, a few t-shirts, PJs, movie poster that i had hanging in my room, Jar with Oliver and Dodger on it, stuffed Oliver, coloring books, junior novel, Mcdonalds singing ornaments, and that sort of thing.

I know how you felt, almost any kid born in the early 80s who enjoyed the film in it's original release felt sad that it never showed up on video. I remembered when i was 8 i use to ask my city's video stores if the film will ever come to video and they didn't know, i felt sad and took 7 longass years to get to video. I remembered when i was 14 i was looking at Disney Channel magazine and had an article on the re-issue coming March 29th of 1996 with a poster next as i said "Oh my god, Oliver and Company? i missed that movie". The TV spots showed up and my friends in junior high were talking about them as we discussed our memories of seeing it in theaters when it first came out when we were younger, having the merchandise and how we remembered how pissed offed we were when it didn't showed up on video all those years. I did saw it in theaters when it was re-issued as well and enjoyed it as much as i did as a kid and even bought the CD soundtrack to replace my cassette one that i had for years.

It was also about time it came to video and bought it with paperroute money on the day before the day i went on my yearly since 1989 vacation to Las Vegas and 7 years later i did replaced the tape with 2002's DVD.

Indeed this is one of my top 12 fave disney movies and i enjoy this movie for the nostalgia as it brings back memories of growing up in simpler times.

Did you also see Great Mouse Detective in theaters as well in 86?

StariaChiba In reply to JohnSpartan1982 [2012-03-22 23:49:00 +0000 UTC]

I still have the finger puppets and a couple of stuffed animals, I did see it in theaters but only once. I made sure we got it when it was finally released on VHS and then again on dvd. I'll buy the blue ray when it comes out too no doubt. I remember The Great Mouse detective but never saw it in theaters. I didn't really like it when i was little but I appreciate it more now as an adult, but I was also only 3 when it came out. Oliver I remember more cause I used my little play school cassette tape recorder and had the comical taped from the tv onto a tape, and then at some point in elementary school I have the Disney sing a long VHS with it on the cover, and I know it had "Why do i worry" and "Good Company" as songs on it. I at least had a piece of the film until they put it back out. I'm still on the hunt to get the old McDonalds christmas ornaments they had I've got the little Mermaid once but I really want to find Oliver and Dodger
