Description Five minutes after I finished this comic, my wife came home from the library with a copy of Downton Abbey, Season Two under her arm. I kid you not.

Oh, and thanks to all those people who offered their kind words and support after I received that negative review. After one day, that journal entry had almost 150 comments on it. I appreciate it, guys.

Colin is smart like a cockroach: if survival is a form of intelligence, then he's a Mensa candidate.

Gahaha Colin's rictus of a grin throughout this whole thing is just fantastic!

Tulips are so much better than roses. They just are.

Puck's a Downton Abbey fan, eh? Hidden depths indeed!

Colin's expression (which grows slightly more severe and strained with each panel) is my favourite part of this. Tulips are my wife's favourite flower, and I think Puck would prefer them too. And I wouldn't say that Puck has hidden depths, exactly. Downton Abbey is essentially a period soap opera with a killer cast. She's not deep; she's female. And you don't need to be deep to really love Downton Abbey; you just need to be female. (I say this as a mildly self-conscious male Downton Abbey fan.)

Seconded! Serious kudos on the double-level emotion expressed there. It's like when actors portray people who are acting - always awes me. I think I've only done it once, and I was working on it for DAYS-!

Any successes achieved in my work are by complete accident. Just always remember that.

It's a good thing Puck is easy to please...Poor Colin...

Puck really ain't that hard to win over. It's even easier because Colin never really tries very hard in the romance department, so she has low standards.

Funny...Sound's like a typical Aussie romance. (I'm somewhat allowed to say that, since I am aussie.)

I hate to say it, but I've heard that about Aussie romance.

Yep and most of it is true.

Poor Colin, can he ever get a break? Oh wait, that's what this is.

I believe there's a speech bubble with a missing tail on panel 4.

There WAS a speech bubble with a tail missing. I noticed it two seconds after uploading, and had to alter it as fast as possible in order to reload, but by that time (about two minutes after the initial upload) ten people had already seen the tailless bubble and one person had faved it. You guys are too fast off the mark.

Oh. I do stuff like that all the time. Except for the quickly re-uploading part.

Awwwww. That's what I'm talking about.

ElectricGecko In reply to SylphiDusk [2012-03-20 02:31:13 +0000 UTC]

This? Well, maybe it is. But as my wife observed, romance in the name of self-preservation really isn't romance at all.

SylphiDusk In reply to ElectricGecko [2012-03-20 18:51:23 +0000 UTC]

Haha yeah. But at the same time there's something beneath and beside all self-preservation; there's more to it. That's why people are still together.
