Description
I did this a few days ago, but it seems deviantART doesn't like files over 30 megs for some reasonI sort of did this out of boredom, but it looks ok, so I thought I'd post it. It started out as me just blowing up the earth, but I thought I'd add a little more to the start, not sure if I like it, but it's not bad. I'll probably play with it some more and stop the continents from moving, since it looks a bit odd I think. Anyway, I did this all in After Effects and Photoshop. With a lot of pre-compositions to get the earth doing the right things as it moves along the time line.
The stock galaxy is by ~Lotay found here .
I spent about 3 days animating it and around 5 hours to render it.

It's pretty good. One thing that bugs me though is the lack of an atmosphere.

Dude this ROCKS! "You gots talent!" LOL
I guess things changed here at DA. There was once mo upload limit then it went to something like 32MB and I guess it's lower than that now.
Anyway great work.
happy day,

The error I got said the limit is 30 megs, but there's a limit of 200 megs for video, so it must be confused and think I'm trying to submit a picture or something. Anyway, it's a short video so I just compressed it a little more. Just hope they fix it so it's back to 200 megs again.
And thanks for the comments, video is my major in school, the photography stuff I do is mostly for fun

WOW! 200MB That is incredible. Do you have ny idea how much I could bore people with 200MB to play with? The newer soft wear compresses twice as much with far better res than the old software I us to use so that is even more bang for the buck. I guess ----- well perhaps a 9 or 10 hour movie. LOL Well it ain't going to happen so have no fear

Haha, I could use some long tutorials like that. We have a Photoshop video tutorial section in the Film Tutorial section, but I think Flash is a good category since you can make it a bigger screen size, the Film section limits the size of everything. Let me know if you want a film invite though

That was excellent! I'm still learning about animation and all, but I think you did a marvelous job!

Why thank you
Most people hear 'animate' and think of hand drawn things, but there's a lot to animation. I mostly do compositing work, layering different things and keying the motion and effects of it all.

I really enjoyed that I was wondering if you used 3DS Max for this but then I read your comments. I've never used After Effects, sounds interesting.
I liked how when it shows the Earth rotating it has the clouds moving seperately from the land below and slightly faster too.
Well done!

Thank you for the comments
Yeah, I do all my videos in After Effects, it's sort of the Photoshop of video
And yeah, the clouds took a little bit to animate like that, but it makes it look much better I think.
