hi guys, just a render of a digital earth I had to make for a video i'm doing---it's a video about time, and i'm going to include some shots of earth reverting back to their (so-called) original state of Pangaea, as well as in the future when the polar ice caps melt and flood coastal areas. Nice, hi res rectangular (mercator) images of earth are a b* to find!! Especially without paying anything! Maya 7.0 Unlimited, 4 separate concentric spheres with textures: land mass, night map (the artificial lights of cities in the night visible from space) cloud map and blue atmosphere glow map. Mental ray.
