Description
I did a series of horse paintings for my watercolor class, posting my favorite three of the five. This photo is a bit more yellow than the actual painting.. Also trimmed a bit more off the edges than I thought while photographing it!
This was simple layering technique. I love the horse, but did kind of cop out on the background.
Shire or Clydesdale, I honestly don't remember.. >.>; Leaning towards second, again referenced from a book of mine.
Spring 2010

I think that you did well on the background, considering that he's running, if you look at photos of running horses sometimes the backgrounds are blurry like your painting. I like it a lot, the colors are nice.

I suck royally at watercolor, so seeing how much detail you've been able to put into this just blows my mind! I would've had water and colors running into one another. =_=''
But, dude, this is soooo amazing! <3

<3 Thank you!
Layering is the method of watercolor that I think is easiest to control, as long as you're patient and let things dry between layers... Worked well on this. =3

This is a combination of two loves, isn't it? It's great when that happens. This looks more Clydesdale to me. Great job with the lighting!

Yeah, the whole series was a combination of an old love with a rapidly becoming 'current' love. ^^ I also lean towards Clydesdale. If I remembered what book I used I'd look it up.. But I have at least 5 horse books. >.>
