Description The Daine of Withwandiê use a pretty flower & leaf script. It is written from top to bottom of each line.

Along with the consonant glyphs, seven vowels are indicated by the use of colours: o, a (purple); u (green); i, I (brown); e, ɛ (grey). The first of each pair is considered "heavy" and its tint is darker; while the second is "light" and its tint is brighter.

Leaf & Flower therefore is g a kind of syllabary. There is a "null consonant" sign that bears the appropriate colour for a syllabic vowel. Consonants that are not twined with vowels (codas) are written entirely in olive.

An interesting factoid about Leaf & Flower is that only girls can read it. Daine boys, for the most part are monochromats (a few are tritanopic), and so either can not see the vowel tints or else interpret them wrongly.

Stylistically, all glyphs may be drawn in either left or right orientation without change in signification. Thus "R" is the same whether it's drawn to the right or left of the staff. Also as a matter of style, the W glyph can twine itself around one or more other glyphs to indicate a labial syllable. For example, the glyph for PWE is PE surrounded by W. This is a matter of stylistic choice; and it is possible that other compounds can be drawn in this way.

I'm imagining figuring out how to get the colours to work...and then my brain broke.

Maybe several subfonts could carry the needed colour variations?

I think yes. I used an online font creator to make a Tree Script font.

Will have to study how it might work for Leaf and Flower.

some web font generators use images to generate the fonts
and some other programming could be done like what you did, eg.
consonant + vowel = color consonant

Something to look into perhaps.
