Ashley Mizuki Robbins from "Another Code: Two Memories" and "Another Code: R".

I own and have played 4 games from Cing, the two Kyle Hyde (for the DS) and the two Ashley adventures (DS and Wii). They're now to be considered retrogaming, and I'm kind of sad Cing went under. I have really liked those games and the atmosphere they evoked, and I would have liked for a young adult Ashley teaming up with an old Kyle for one last mystery.
The Another Code games, unlike the Kyle Hyde ones, are a bit uneven in plot, switching between whimsical adventure and drama and going from light to dark and to light again, incorporating the supernatural with just the minimal required amount of almost disbelief. Another Code: R in particular opens up a lot of interesting threads without never really closing many of them, and those that close are not that satisfying. It's a game I really enjoyed though, because I like adventure and mystery and narrative. I also liked the technology in the games, with the DAS (Dual Another System), a Nintendo DS-like device that in 2009 could still be considered avant-garde while smartphones were quickly taking over.
Now, I LOVE the Nintendo interface, especially in the 2DS XL version. It's beautiful, colourful, playful, lo-fi, it makes Android and iOS look dreary and bleak. The notion that such a device could be the main instrument in helping this temperamental teen along in her quests was quite fun. Smartphones are great force multipliers but they'll never be that enjoyable.

Ashley is a composite character I built while imagining her in the last days over her 17s. Adulthood with its own set of trouble is just a few dawns away. This is the twilight of her carefree life (although Ashley has seen plenty of hardship at this point, adult life will come with its own host of trouble) and yet, she must face one last mystery armed with the latest version of the DAS, on the shores of Lake Juliet.
Cing's own creators state that after her experiences in the two games she was the protagonist of, she lived a happy life. Sorry, but there is no such thing. There is life, there is happiness, and there is sadness. All one can hope and strive for is a life that will give meaning to both.

My foray into fan art for a videogame series I liked and still like. The Another Code series is not everyone's cup of tea, with a lot of long conversations, backtracking and puzzle solving and many side quests. There are pacing issues (especially in R) with things going from calm to hectic and with the mood going back and forth. I think they probably put too many things in, but they're still great fun if you like a stress-free gaming experience.
Ashley would be 32 now. Aw. Now I really feel old.
