Description
A print of this painting can be purchased at my etsy shop here: [link]Something I did purely for fun.
I love blowfish, and I especially love nudibranchs. For those unfamiliar with these weird sea slugs, those featured in this painting are all real nudibranchs, and they may not even be the weirdest ones out there. My favorite is the blue guy at the top, the blue dragon nudibranch who, unlike most of his genus, will actually attack and eat animals larger than itself, all the way up to a Man O' War jellyfish, and after eating anything poisonous, will actually absorb the venom of its meal and use it as its own venom.
Slugs are so cool.
As a side note, I should add that probably none of these nudibranchs actually live in the same environment or part of the world, and they will probably never be found all together like this. I did no research on where each species comes from and what their habitats are, I just wanted it to look cool. I admit this.
Painted on canvas with acrylics and lots of good swing and motown, especially Harry Belafonte's "Zombie Jamboree".

Oooh, have you heard of the iguanas from the Galapagos Islands that swim underwater? No joke! My bio teacher went to the islands to scuba dive and geek-drool over it. She was snorkling, and something moved in the corner of her eye, so she glanced to the left and went all "Wtf?" when she saw the lizard paddling past her. xD
P.S. I like the picture.

Thanks! And yeah, I'd be too if the sea slugs were coming to get me.

That lotusy white nudibranch is gorgeous. Oh man, if you did a drawing full of these...
I love the colorful mosses on the rock, but I think all the bubbles distract from the creatures, which are beautiful. Love our hero blowfish's expression: "Ohhhhhh fudge."

That's an alabaster nudibranch, and yeah, they're amazing. I thought they would be impossible to paint, but it was surprisingly easy.
You're probably right about the bubbles... I should have done less. Heehee, I was hoping that "oh fudge" expression would come across. Blowfish are so funny.
