As much as I friggin' love afros, I'm shocked that I don't draw or paint them more often. It's a damn shame, but hopefully this will be the first of many.
Enjoy, folks! I know not everyone can afford original art, so I've been putting mini paintings, this one 5x5, on my shop at what is hopefully a price most people can afford. It's a completely original piece of art, and made with love, of course.

I know it's small, but you should make this a print. The colors and simplicity of it cry out to be hung on multiple people's walls.
Also, afros are indeed fantastic and I am jealous of your command of shapes and form and such. My shark would be neither that realistic nor that cute.

I'm so glad you dig! I kind of do want to make it into a print, and I may go ahead and do that. I can still do that, right? Even if I sell the original? I reserve the right to blahblah, right? I guess what I meant is, the shark is obviously shark-like. I attempted a shark once, and it looked much more fish-like and disproportional. We couldn't for the life of us figure out where the eyes were supposed to go. Up, down, nearer the nose or the fin? It wasn't a misshapen blob but it WAS all wrong angles. Horrifying. AND you painted yours at a 3/4ths angle, which in my pitiful experience is superhard. So ha, you win.

Ha! Well thanks! I do like sharks, indeed. I'm sure the first few sharks I attempted came out looking crazy as well, but I've had a thing for sea life for a while, so I've bee practicing. I seriously considered putting a laser on this one's head, but my sister said it would be overkill.

Mmm, I must agree with the sister. Lasershark is for pajama pants (yes, I remember that fanart) and when Batman needs something biological to ride. I totally encourage you to do a separate picture, though!

Yes! Yes, yes and yes. I friggin' love this. I want this as a poster or a beach tote! Love the colors. I like the sunset quality that coral gives it. Beautiful!
