I thought, with his collection of insanely designed, complex weapons, Megamind deserved a little steampunk touch. I think the look suits him. Roxanne probably would have thought so as well, if she weren't busy loathing him for kidnapping her again.I was so excited about drawing this, and now that it's finished, I'm disheartened by how juvenile and awkward it looks. I color everything by hand because I just don't know any other way, but I know some digital artists who could turn this into a real thing to see. Maybe I'll force my sister to color my lineart her way.
I've always loved the look of steampunk and, rather than put all that time and energy into the elaborate cosplay, am content to simply wish we lived in a world this cool. It was a blast to draw.

An excellent illustration! I love all the detail work that's put into this, and I think it's a nice touch that it's a traditional piece rather than a digital. ^^ I almost even prefer it that way, to be truthful--it makes it feel as though the viewer has stepped into a storybook image, and we're catching Megamind in the act of committing some nefarious crime, starting with the kidnapping of Miss Ritchie.
This is probably one of the most creative pieces that I've seen for Megamind. Excellent work! ^^

I don't think the coloring looks bad at all! It's very full and pleasing to the eye, and you can tell there was a lot of effort put into it. And it is, in-and-of itself, a great drawing.

While masterfully done, I'm not so sure that the Steampunk Megamind does it for me (just not enough blue lol.) That having been said, the corresponding touches into Roxy's look really suit her and I don't think that it looks awkward or childish.

This is fantastic in every respect! Juvenile it definitely is not -- you have a style all your own, something I love about all your art. The level of detail in this is amazing! Buttons, buckles, gears, and that gun! Did you use a reference, or did that just come out of your head (and why can't I come up with shit that cool)? You did an AWESOME job coloring all the brass parts, which is something I personally find tedious to do, so I usually fudge it. It's totally worth it to go to the trouble.
This is just fantastic top to bottom. Megamind looks like he has mischievous plans, like Roxy's gonna have fun despite herself. Love the colored windows in the city, the stars and zeppelin, the Edison bulb and his bitchin' collar.
A triumph, little sister! You know what I would do? Just one thing different, I would slap some PhotoShop textures on there. Some grit on the walls, maybe some random wallpaper pattern. But I don't think it's necessary.

I dunno -- I feel like I could have done something way more interesting with their respective poses and the perspective. But hey, it was fun! For the gun, I basically looked off of Andrew's Nerf gun and then added some flair, and Andrew also stepped in to add a few touches like the bulb.
I like the idea of Megamind going to elaborate lengths to plot some nefarious shanghai, with Roxanne just hating him all the way. But loving it too, a little.
I would love to give you my lineart and see what you do with it! I know you could turn this on its head.
