Description I'm running out of things to say.
iron slip burnished by itself on the outside with shino on the inside, white stoneware. I tried to have a fading effect with the slip and it kinda worked but not as good as it looked before being fired.

heh isn't iron a study of extremes?! Sure is fun to use though!

yea. I'm using it on current pieces, but I can't decide what glaze to use it with.

I've been spoiled . . .the college I went to allowed us to mix up any glaze we wanted (and if one took the glaze class, formulate our own).

I made a crackle that had a bluish green tint that looked pretty cool over intricate designs done with RIO

what color and effects did the tint look like over the RIO?

My way of inducing crackle effects was to add a significant percentage of Magnesium Carbonate which renders the glaze completely opaque. Where the "plates" of the crackle(i suppose it's technically a rough crawl) were there was no evidence of the RIO but in between them where a glossy surface was left, you could see the brownish color of the RIO. If you want an example visit my gallery and check out "Stones of Valour". I've done a lot of toying with RIO on my other work too.

we are allowed to mix any glaze we want too, I just don't know what to do. and in level 2 we have to make our own glaze by altering the ingredients of existing glazes. my colleges ceramics department only has two classes, but a few of us who are always around are allowed to do pretty much whatever we want.

cool that you have that freedom too but that's a real shame that there's only 2 classes
