This took me back to when I was studying about the masters! I love Caravaggio's work, and this really is a great tribute to him! I always loved the subjects that Caravaggio picked out to paint!

It would be a whim of mine to paint something like this!

Thanks XandarX2 this was an exploration of mine in undergrad; I was very glad to be able to examine and give homage to that period and this artist.

Ah thanks, this was a project in undergrad, really a first attempt at this kind of Baroque leaning.

that's my primary style i use mostly the techniques of Rembrandt but some times i get a wiled hair and go for some southern italian techniques. ones you get in to transparent glazing you will never go back to flat dead paint again! it would mean a lot to me if you would look at my work titled "Is It a sine to be this beautiful" i think you might enjoy its intense glowing light

this is carvaggio? looks more like a mannerist's style, like Rosso Fiorentino. the right thigh seems a little cut-off, chiaroscuro could use a little more work like in the right shoulder blade area. great drapery and i like the checkered tiles and black background to contrast the depth of the boy and the drapery.

i should've been clearer, the intention was never to imitate caravaggio's style, more like, to let it impress into my psyche and then paint in a reasonably approximate(insofar as bounds of realism) trajectory with personal mood, cognition, etc...

Thanks for the comment!

Excellent! I could tell the style right away, but you've definitely put yourself into it.
